Our team of clinicians have worked with individuals and families from many backgrounds, facing a broad spectrum of issues. We’ve developed a deep respect for the unique stories and needs of our clients.

We use evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Tools to help our clients move through the challenges that they are facing.

The clinicians on our team specialize in treating anxiety, phobias, OCD, and depression. However, we each have different areas of interest and expertise.

Sasha Albani, MFT

Sasha (She, Her) is the founder and clinical director of The Albani Group and has been working with individuals and families for over a decade in both inpatient as well as outpatient settings.

She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of the South and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.

She has extensive training in evidence-based treatment through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and The Center for Research on Eating Disorders at Oxford. She has received specialty training in the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach.

Sasha specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and families who are struggling with Anxiety, OCD, Phobias, Depression, and Eating Disorders. When working with her clients she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Enhanced CBT, Mindfulness and Family Systems.

Sasha lives in Mill Valley with her family and when she is not in the office, she can often be found on the trails of Mt. Tam running or mountain biking.

Alex Bloom, LCSW

Alex (He, Him) received his bachelors degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley and his Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. He completed his postgraduate clinical work at Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA and spent five years working in Beverly Hills at The Pain Psychology Center. Alex has also received training in the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach.

Alex specializes in treating anxiety, OCD, chronic pain, depression and other mood related issues. By understanding and confronting these challenges collaboratively, he seeks to empower his clients to lead the lives they want for themselves. Alex has extensive experience working with young men and boys and he utilizes the particular tools and approaches that work best with this population that is often under-served in the therapeutic setting.

In his spare time he loves to tend his garden, hike the hills of Novato and mountain bike.  Alex also spends a good deal of time playing Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and a number of video games, all in an effort to better understand his clients.  At least this is the excuse he gives his wife..

Sara Dukker, MFT

Sara (She, Her) received her BA in Philosophy from Brandeis University and her master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. She completed her postgraduate clinical work with Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) and North Bay Recovery Center.

At the core of her practice, Sara focuses on supporting growth and change using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has received CBT training through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Sara has also received training in the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach.

Sara specializes in working with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse issues.

Sara lives in the outer sunset in SF with her TDI licensed therapy dog, Bacon - and when she isn’t with her clients you are most likely to find her rock climbing in Yosemite or surfing at Ocean Beach.

JoAnne Forman, MFT

JoAnne (She, Her) is a supervising clinician. She holds Master’s degrees in both Organizational Development and Marriage and Family Therapy from Golden Gate University, and received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan. She is a Marin County native and deeply rooted in her community.  

JoAnne specializes in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other challenges unique to adolescence and young-adulthood.  She works directly with teen and young adult clients, both individually and in group settings. She also works with parents to help them create structure, increase accountability, improve communication and decrease anxious behaviors in their kids and teens. 

JoAnne’s treatment orientation is strongly grounded in evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). She has received specialty training in the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach, and is an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider. Her approach is straightforward and effective, meeting her clients where they are and helping them achieve their goals quickly so that they can return to pursuing their passions.  

In her limited but coveted free time, she enjoys amateur backyard gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two children. When she can, she also works as a therapist at Camp Tawonga in the summers, supporting kids and staff.  She also facilitates a support group for parents of gender expansive kids at Congregation Rodef Sholom where she helps run their REAL Mental Health Initiative.

 

 

Annie Happel, AMFT

Annie (She, Her) received her BA in Social Science from the University of Washington and her MA in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute.

Annie is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT136143). Annie is currently working towards requirements for licensure in California under the supervision of Sasha Albani (LMFT50081).

Annie takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal thoughts, disordered eating, grief and self-injurious behaviors. Annie has worked in both clinical and school-based settings. She is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and incorporates other evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as mindfulness and somatic techniques into treatment. Annie provides a safe and accepting environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She honors her clients innate understanding of their own needs, while encouraging awareness, acceptance, and positive change.

In her free time, you are most likely to find Annie exploring the trails of Marin, inventing seasonal salads, spending meaningful time with friends, and singing with her two daughters.

Becca Holtz, LCSW

Becca Holtz (She, Her) received her B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from Pomona College and her Master of Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to the Albani Group she worked with teens in inpatient psychiatric care, and has also worked with youth and families in legal services, mediation, school-based mental health, and adoption services.

Becca's work is grounded in evidence-based practices and informed by narrative and attachment-focused therapies; she is passionate about learning what matters most to her clients, helping them feel connected to themselves and their loved ones, and providing effective support to help them achieve their goals. Becca identifies as queer, White, Jewish, and cisgender. She loves meeting new clients from all backgrounds, and has experience working with LGBTQIA youth around issues of identity, family relationships, romantic and social relationships, and gender expression. Becca also especially enjoys working with young people facing OCD, perfectionism, and other manifestations of anxiety, as well as young people who experience ADHD and features of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In her free time, Becca loves to find a balance between watching her favorite new reality TV shows and enjoying time in the actual real world--biking around the East Bay, dancing samba, studying languages, and searching out interesting vegan foods.

 

 

Meghan Jones, PsyD

Meghan (She, Her) received a BA in Psychology from the University of Louisville. She then went on to earn her M.A. and Doctor of Psychology, Psy.D, degrees from Xavier University. In 2015, she began her clinical work and has seen clients in a variety of settings such as college counseling centers, hospitals, and youth detention facilities. Meghan specializes in eating disorders, body image struggles, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and identity exploration. She especially enjoys working with People of Color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and athletes.

Meghan meets with clients via telehealth. She uses a collaborative, multicultural, and solution-focused approach in her therapy. She works from a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and incorporates many ACT and DBT skills and principles into her work. She places emphasis on teaching clients to focus on the present moment, learn skills to regulate emotions, and gain awareness of mind/body/spirit. Meghan strives to be a supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic presence to create a safe place for clients to discuss difficult topics.

In her spare time, Meghan enjoys walking her dog, practicing yoga, rock climbing, baking, throwing clay, and traveling. She sees it as an honor to form a trusting relationship with her clients and assist them in overcoming struggles and becoming their best self.

 

 

Jordan Long, LMFT

Jordan Long (she/her) received her BA in Psychology and Public Health from Southern Methodist University, and her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California. 

Jordan has extensive experience working with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety disorders including specific phobias and OCD, as well as children who are neurodivergent. Prior to becoming a therapist,  Jordan worked as a psychological assistant for ADHD testing and a cognitive trainer for executive functioning skills.

Jordan is also passionate about working with people affected by cancer, and currently leads support groups at the non-profits Cancer Support Community and Bay Area Young Survivors. She has experience working with children, families, and adults who are dealing with the challenges of cancer. 

 Jordan integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and strengths focused work into her practice while emphasizing the importance of the mind body connection. She considers all facets of a client's identity in her work while approaching each individual with empathy and respect. 

In her free time, Jordan loves to get outside and explore the city with her partner and dog, try new restaurants with friends, read, and watch true-crime docuseries!

Darcy Maher, LCSW

Darcy Maher (She, Her) received her BA in Social Work and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University.

She works with children, adolescents, and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and trauma. She also enjoys working with families to assist them in better understanding one another as they work to improve communication as a family.

Darcy’s approach to working with clients is collaborative at its core — she believes that the therapeutic relationship is the groundwork for helping clients create the change they wish to see in their lives. Darcy uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care with her clients.

In her free time, Darcy enjoys cooking new recipes, spending time with friends, reading, and traveling. A Florida native, she also enjoys spending time at the beach.

 

 

Brooke Rawls, MFT

Brooke (She, Her) received her BA in Psychology with a minor in Applied Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her MS in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from the California State University, Long Beach. Brooke has also received specialty training in the Yale University Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach. She has worked with children, youth, adults, and families for over 8 years.  She has worked with these populations in various settings including schools, hospitals, pre and post adoption services, home-based mental health, and outpatient mental health. 

Brooke meets with clients via telehealth. She strives to provide a space for clients to feel safe, understood, and valued.  She uses a collaborative and strengths-based approach with clients to support them in exploring alternative ways for managing life challenges. 

Brooke specializes in issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, adoption, substance abuse, parent consultation, anger, and self-esteem.  She has training in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, triple-p parenting, and family systems that allow her to utilize an eclectic approach in order to meet the unique needs of her clientele.

In her free time, Brooke enjoys hiking, baking new Pinterest recipes, taking advantage of sunny days at the beach, and spending quality time with loved ones.

 

 

Nate Parish, AMFT

Nate (He, Him) attended Colorado College where he received a BA in Biology, and the University of the Pacific for an MA in Education. He received his masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute, and has worked clinically with elementary and middle school students and their families from San Francisco and Marin County. 

Nate is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT137493) currently working towards requirements for licensure in California under the supervision of Sasha Albani (LMFT50081). Nate has worked in education for the last decade, and brings his experience within schools to his clinical work. He uses evidence-based practices like cognitive behavior therapy and attachment focused therapies, and Nate uses a strength based approach to work with his clients to identify and meet their treatment goals. He draws on his decade worth of experience working with kids to develop deep trusting relationships with each of his clients. 

In his free time, Nate loves to spend time outside with his family, go for runs with his dogs, and enjoy delicious food especially when it is a home cooked meal. 

 

 

Daniele Svingos, LCSW

Daniele (she/her) received her BA in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz and her MA in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She has been providing clinical services in the East Bay for over 20 years, including 15 years at UCSF Children’s Hospital in Oakland. 

Daniele specializes in neurodiversity including ASD, ADHD, executive function issues, and learning differences. She also has extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, phase of life issues, technology dependance, and interpersonal conflict. She works with individuals, couples, parents, and families. 

Daniele is a relational therapist and has been trained in several therapeutic modalities. She draws from her training in trauma-informed care, DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic, ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency), and Motivational Interviewing. Daniele uses a client-centered, strength-based, culturally responsive, empowerment model for her clinical work. As a helper and a connector, she enjoys authentically partnering with her clients on their journeys. 

Daniele is an avid home chef with an extensive collection of cookbooks from around the world. In her free time she loves to cook for a crowd using ingredients from her organic garden. Her happy place is at the beach where she and her two Wheaten Terriers like to watch their family surf. 

 

 
 

Sarah Albani, MA

Sarah (She, They) is the Clinical Coordinator for The Albani Group and an artist and educator living in San Francisco. She holds an MFA from UC Berkeley in Art Practice. As Clinical Coordinator, she loves supporting families and individuals in finding resources to develop psychological flexibility and emotional strength.
